Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

Charismatic Church vs Biblical Church

Table of Contents

Dear friends,

God has been showing me the importance of discernment in these last days. Jesus Himself warned us: “Take heed that no man deceive you” (Matthew 24:4).

Out of love for the body of Christ, I’ll be sharing a new series of newsletters (and on my upcoming podcast) about red flags in churches that every saint needs to watch out for.

These are not aimed at any one group, but at patterns of spiritual abuse, manipulation, and false teaching that can creep into any ministry if we’re not vigilant.

Some of the red flags I’ll be covering include:

  • Leaders who cannot be questioned and demand absolute loyalty.

  • Teaching that uses fear, guilt, or curses to control believers.

  • Claims of being the “only true” or “most spiritual” church.

  • Scripture twisted to elevate people instead of glorifying Christ.

  • Pressuring saints to isolate from family, friends, or other churches.

I know these topics may be uncomfortable, but I believe they are vital. God calls us to “test the spirits, whether they are of God” (1 John 4:1), and to measure every teaching against His Word.

And let me be clear: you don’t have to take my word for it—but the Scriptures’ word for it. Every teaching, every prophecy, every sermon must be weighed against the unchanging truth of the Bible.

If you’ve ever felt spiritually pressured, silenced, or afraid—you are not alone. Jesus came to bring freedom, not bondage (Galatians 5:1).

🎥 Example to Reflect On

I recently came across Bible teacher Allen Parr’s testimony of why he left the hyper-charismatic movement. His story is a sobering reminder of how even passionate believers can get caught up in environments where emotional hype takes precedence over God’s Word.

🙏 Final Thoughts

This isn’t about bashing churches—it’s about protecting the flock of God.

Jesus is our Shepherd, and He alone deserves our full allegiance. My prayer is that this series will encourage you to cling tightly to Christ, walk in discernment, and find freedom in His truth.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

With grace and truth,

TL
